into Hxxx series of errors (H101, H202, H203 and H505). All these errors mainly
encounters when a user attempt to open company file in multi-user environment.

The major causes are:
1.
Network
(ND) files are corrupted or damaged.
2.
Your system’s firewall or
antivirus is blocking access to the computer where the company file is stored.
3.
QuickBooks failed to acquire
the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the system where the company file is
stored.
4.
When you try to open your
company file stored on another computer that involves additional installation
and setup for an appropriate approach resulting in Error Codes H101, H303, and H505.

H505
There are different
ways by which QuickBooks error H505 can be fixed. Let us take a look at some of

Solution 1: Verification of
hosting and services
Follow the steps to
verify hosting:

Make sure
only server hosting is enabled.
2.
Run QuickBooks.
3.
Go to File < Utilities tab.
4.
When you
see “host multi-user access,” it
means hosting is not enabled on this computer.
5.
The
server computer should show “Stop
Hosting multi-user access.”
Now, verify the QuickBooks
services. The steps are
1.
The
services “QuickBooksDBXX” and “QBCFMonitorService” should run on the server
PC.
2.
Open “Run” box (Win + E).
3.
Type in “services.msc”.
4.
Check the
status of these services. These should both be active.
Solution 3: Configure
Firewall Settings
Make sure that the firewall
settings are not blocking QuickBooks. You may
have to add QuickBooks as an exception or open ports needed by QuickBooks.
Usually, these ports are needed to develop a proper network connection. Also
disable the firewall and then try to switch to the multi-user mode to host the
company file.
Solution 4: Check .ND
files
You need to make sure
that .ND files are not damaged. You can delete the present .ND files and then

Company folder.
